WIP – Maxi Dress
Have you ever been sewing with a pattern and you were at the point where everything looked atrocious and you were just about to call it a day?
I had a day like that yesterday. Butterick 5486 has these two pieces that cross and wrap around the bodice and when its untied it looks like weird octopus legs but as soon as I put in on my dressform and wrapped it up I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. I am actually loving how its turning out and now I have some new motivation to finish it!
This weekend I was fairly productive… I also have an oversized tote to show you that I’ll be using as a carry on and beach bag! Have a lovely Monday!

This is really nice. Are you sure you want to stay a nurse, you look to me, more of a designer of clothing! Great job!
OMG, you too? I had a day like that last week. Urgh. What you’ve done so far looks great. Maybe I need to get a dressform.
I get that too – sometimes I shove whatever I’m making in a box and try not to think about it for a week
Your dress looks awesome so far though! Can’t wait to see the final dress!
The bodice looks fantastic and I love that fabric. Good luck with the rest of it, can’t wait to see the end result.
That is looking great! Love the fabric.
This is looking great! I love the tie part of it and the pattern of the maxi too
