On the Block Projects
I have a finished vintage inspired skirt to show you later but here’s a couple of things that are on the block in the mean time.
I’m working on the Alexander Blouse from Burdastyle

I’m making my blouse in this awesome birdcage print. I’ll be lengthening the peplum a bit and adding a lining.
Also I’m working on a redo of this striped dress. I’m still trying to figure out what to do with the top of the dress and I’m open to your lovely ideas!!
I need to remember to take my before pics outside! This lighting is horrifying!

If you feel up to it, it would be lovely if you`d chop off the top at the waist and use the fabric to sew a fitted bodice with a neckholder strap. You could maybe use the direction of the stripes to create a v-shaped pattern. It`s ambitious but I think it would look just devine.
That dress could be so cute! I’m definitely seeing sleeveless and some sort of cutout in the back…maybe with a twist or a bow. Can’t wait to see what you do!
Oh I love that pattern! Can’t wait to see your finished project. What kind of weight is the fabric?
Re. the second dress, I really like the top as it is! Maybe just take in the waist a bit, then wear with skinny jeans and a necklace.
I picture the striped dress with a boatneck or scooped ballet neckline.
I would cut the top off under the arms and insert some elastic, then take up the hem to make a cute summer dress – worn with a red belt if possible!
Wow! That is fantastic fabric – I’m excited to see your finished Alexander blouse! Loved the Hawaii pics too – it looks like you had a great time!
Can’t wait to see the Burda blouse when it is finished!
